Texas Tech University, Costa Rica Campus

Texas Tech University’s Costa Rica campus is a forward-thinking, integrated learning environment that builds on the vibrant live/work/play model of Avenue Escazú—introducing learning as a transformational element for economic and cultural growth in the region.

Designed as a series of learning neighborhoods connected by a central learning street, the campus leads to a vibrant, colorful campus center that fosters interaction, community, and identity. The architecture and academic programming are carefully aligned with Costa Rica’s national strategic goals, making this campus a potential model for higher education across Latin America.

The design emphasizes collaboration and creativity, with general and shared spaces reflecting the evolving dynamics of modern workplaces. State-of-the-art laboratories and specialist classrooms are positioned around flexible, shared zones to encourage interdisciplinary engagement. The central library acts as a connector, enabling free-flowing exchange of ideas across programs and disciplines.
