BASE University, Bengaluru
Established in honor of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar—a visionary economist, jurist, and principal architect of the Indian Constitution—the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE University) commemorates his 125th birth anniversary with a bold vision: to create India’s premier institution for economics education.
Spanning a dedicated 43-acre campus in Bengaluru, BASE University is the only institution of its kind globally with a campus entirely focused on the field of economics. Designed by Education Design International, the master plan was developed after extensive research into leading global institutions including LSE, Harvard, Stockholm School of Economics, and NUS Singapore. The result is a truly global learning environment—one that merges international academic standards with a distinctly Indian ethos.
The campus is a model of sustainable, future-ready design, integrating nature, context, and culture. A natural creek running through the site has been transformed into a bioswale, enhancing biodiversity and ecological balance. Locally sourced materials minimize embodied energy and carbon footprint, while all buildings are climate-responsive and designed for low-impact living.
BASE University features a fully residential campus, including academic blocks for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs; a state-of-the-art 800-seat auditorium; administrative buildings; and a vibrant 24/7 Learning Commons that houses a library, media center, meeting rooms, and student services. The campus also includes expansive sports and recreational facilities that promote holistic well-being.
Blending traditional Indian values with cutting-edge educational design, BASE fosters a culture where learning transcends classrooms and takes place amid nature. With its global outlook and local grounding, the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics is poised to emerge as a world-class academic hub, redefining India’s role in shaping economic thought on the global stage.

We fully acknowledge and greatly appreciate your association and contributions at all stages. Believe me, you have built a long list here of your followers and admirers.
